Australian Memorial Park and the 'Cobbers' statue, near Fromelles, France. The memorial commemorates Australians killed during the Battle of Fromelles (19th July 1916). 14-hour battle is remembered as one of the worst in Australia's military history, resulting in over 5,500 casualties. Thousands of embroidered remembrance poppies were placed at the Cobbers statue for the centennary event, pictured here.
