Successful grant projects
The Community War Memorials Fund provides grants of up to $10,000 for the conservation of local war memorials, including specialist heritage advice and physical work. Grant applications are open to local councils and community organisations, including memorial trusts, veteran groups and local councils.

Woodburn Hall First World War Honour Rolls Richmond Valley Council was awarded a Community War Memorials Fund (CWMF) grant in 2022 to support the conservation of the Woodburn District Great War Roll of Honor and the Woodburn Lodge 146 First World War Roll of Honour. |

In 2022, Federation Council received a $8,945 Community War Memorials Fund grant to support the conservation of the Corowa First and Second World Wars Memorial Clock, which had damaged clock faces and a broken dial mechanism. |

In 2021, Maitland City Council received a grant for a specialist stonemason to undertake conservation work to this historic town’s war memorial. First unveiled in 1921, the memorial commemorates those from the local community who served from the First World War to Vietnam. |

Bondi Surf Bathers Life Saving Club Located alongside the nation’s most iconic beaches, the Bondi Surf Bathers Life Saving Club received funding for conservation work on two historic Honour Rolls commemorating club members who served in the First World War and Second World War. Repairs to damage caused by weathering restored these memorials to their glory just in time for Anzac Day commemorations in 2022. |

Celtic Cross War Memorial, Christ Church, Gosford The Anglican Parish of Gosford received a grant to repair the memorial outside its historic Christ Church, including weathering damage that rendered the names of those honoured illegible. The work restored the names of those who served so their service and sacrifice could continue to be remembered. |

The Holbrook RSL sub-Branch was awarded two Community War Memorials Fund grants to support the management of the Holbrook War Memorial, including the preparation of a condition assessment followed by specialist conservations and restoration work. |
